Mark Walberg, the man who brought you the acclaimed series Entourage, and creator Ian Edelman are ready introduce audiences to what hustling is all about in the newest TV offering How To Make it in America.
The Dramedy introduces viewers to characters Ben (Bryan Greenberg) a striving graphic artist and Cam (Victor Rasuk) a loud mouthed and money scheming friend-two nobodies who reside in the “City of Dreams”-New York. Grown tired of just barely getting by day-to-day, these ambitious fellows are fixated on making a better lifestyle for themselves.
In the Pilot: Cam discovers his cousin Rene (played by Luis Guzman) is released from prison. Now convincing his friend Ben to help him out, the troublesome two must figure out a way to pay back his debt.
For just the first episode in the series, the show makes a positive first impression. How to Make It In America brings a nice flow of subtle humor with just the right balance of realistic and some over-the-top moments.
When it comes to duos, the on-screen chemistry between characters Bryan Greenberg (Ben) and Victor Rasuk (Cam) feels natural-Akin to that of “Gus” and “Shawn” of Psych (USA). While Slightly different in personalities, they two characters do share some certain similarities. From a viewers standpoint, it’ll be a pleasure to see the pair in their daily adventures as the series rolls on.
Additional nods goes to How To Make It in America team for their immaculate musical selection and also for the still shots-which capture the essence of downtown New York City perfectly.
How To Make In America, the 30 minute show, airs Sunday nights on HBO.
