The “Rated R” superstar himself Edge was declared victorious at the 2010 Royal Rumble. Edge, who just recently recovered from a serious injury, was the 29th participant in the 30 man rumble. By eliminating John Cena, Edge has earned a title shot opportunity from whatever brand he so chooses. Edge wasn’t the only shocker in this year’s Royal Rumble. “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix stormed to the ring and eliminated the Great Khali after using her powers of female persuasion. The road quickly stopped there for Phoenix as she was taken out by CM Punk with the GTS. Beth Phoenix is the 2nd woman ever to take part in the Royal Rumble.

After weeks of unrelenting taunting from her arch rivals Michelle Mccool and sidekick Layla, it was Mickie James who got the last laugh last night. A fierce James quickly made her way to the ring, taking out Michelle Mccool with her signature DDT for win. Michelle’s karma didn’t end there, The newly crowned Women’s champion and her friends left Mccool and Layla lying in the ring all covered in cake.
High flyer Rey Mysterio was no match for The Undertaker. But his efforts were a tremendous one. Rey Mysterio hit not 1 but 2 6-1-9′s. However, The Undertaker was able to counter and deliver a devastating “Last Ride” on Rey Mysterio to retain his World Heavyweight title.
Sheamus can consider himself lucky after last night’s PPV. The WWE Champion was able to keep his title from Orton and in his possession after a distraction from Cody Rhodes. An irate Orton verbally and physically lashed out at Legacy members Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. But before Orton could say another word, Sheamus took a cheap shot at Orton nailing a big boot to the back of the head.
ECW’s top star Christan was able to retain his title against #1 contender Ezekiel Jackson as was The Miz when he put his U.S. Championship on the line against MVP.
